TOEFL iBT ライティングの概要

■所要時間は30分

ライティングセクションは、2時間に及ぶTOEFL iBT®テストの最後のセクションです。

所要時間は30分で、20分間のIntegrated writing taskと10分間の Academic Discussion task

の2つの課題に取り組むことになります。

▼Integrated writing task

はじめにリーティングとリスニングを行った上でその内容を要約する課題です。

書くだけではなく、読んだり聞いたりする技能も必要なので「Integrated（統合的）」と呼ばれます。

まず3分の時間内でアカデミックなトピックに関する短いパッセージを読み、その後、

同じトピックに関する約2分のリスニング音声を聞きます。リスニング音声の内容は、

パッセージの内容に関する講義となります。


リスニング音声を聞き終わったら、20分間でライティングを完成させます。

解答のライティングは、リーディングとリスニングの内容を使ってようやくする形で質問に答えます。

大学の授業の意見交換用のオンライン掲示板に、教授の質問に対する他生徒の回答を参考にし、

自分の意見を投稿します。

トピックについての専門的な知識は問われず、自分の経験や知識に基づいて、

具体的な例とともに、回答を100語以上にまとめます。


設問に明確に答えているか、意見の展開の分かりやすさ、単語・文法の幅広さや

正確さなどが評価されます。

中高生向け英文Eメールの書き方

１．適切な件名をつける: 件名は簡潔かつ具体的であるべきです。

　　受信者が一目でメールの内容を把握できるようにしましょう。

２．挨拶で始める: 「Dear [名前]」や「Hello [名前]」といった形で、

　　礼儀正しい挨拶でメールを開始します。

3．　目的を明確にする: 最初の段落で、メールの主旨や目的をはっきりと述べましょう。

４．簡潔でわかりやすい文を心がける: 長すぎる文章や複雑な表現は避け、

　　シンプルで明瞭な文を使うことが大切です。

5.　文法とスペルチェックをする: 誤字や文法の間違いがないか、

　　送信前に必ずチェックしましょう。

6.　丁寧な表現を使用する: 「Please」や「Thank you」といった丁寧な言葉遣いを使って、

　　敬意を表します。

7.　パラグラフを分ける: 異なる話題は別々のパラグラフに分けることで、

　　読みやすいメールになります。

8.　結びの言葉を加える: 「Best regards」や「Sincerely」など、

　　適切な結びの言葉を使いましょう。

9.　自分の名前で締めくくる: メールの最後には、自分のフルネームを書いて締めくくります。

10.　文脈に合ったトーンを選ぶ: 友達に送るメールと先生に送るメールでは、トーンが

　　異なることを意識しましょう。友達にはもう少しカジュアルな

　　言い回しを、先生や公式の場ではよりフォーマルな表現を選びます。
