「 態度を示す 」って英語ではどう言うんでしょか？
アメリカでは ” take a stand ” といいます。
例文
Many activists have taken a stand against climate change by organizing
protests and speaking out in public forums.
多くの活動家たちは、デモを組織したり、公共のフォーラムで声を上げたり
することで、気候変動に対して立ち上がっています。
“stand” は名詞で使われる時は、「立場、態度、見解、姿勢」
などの意味を持つことがありますので、“take a stand” は「態度
を取る、立場を取る、見解を示す」などと言う時に使われます。
このフレーズは、特に政治や社会的な問題に対して、自分の意見を明確に
示すことを指します。
語源は不明ですが、19世紀に英語圏で使われ始め、現在も幅広い文脈
で使われています。
また、“stand” の後に続く前置詞で意味が変わってきます。
take a stand against は「～に反対の態度を取る」という意味
ですが、take a stand for とすると「～に賛成の態度を取る」
という意味になります。
